Mumbai violence: Woman cops molested by Muslims rioters

Several woman police constables, who were trying to manage the crowd after a law and order situation broke out in Azad Maidan, were molested by the mob.
A senior crime branch officer said: “At least five woman police constables were molested by mob while they were trying to control the mob that went on the rampage,” said the crime branch officer.
However, the miscreants were not identified, the officer added. “It is difficult to identify the men as they were just a face in the crowd,” said another officer.
As soon as the women informed their superiors about the misbehaviour, they were pulled out and kept on guard away from the mob.
There were also reports that a few of the rioters had stolen police weapon and fired in the air and at the police. However, no casualties were reported due to the firing. The police said that many of their men were also assaulted.
